    Sharon Singh
    MSW, RSW

    Social Worker

Sharon Singh is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with experience that spans over 8 years in diverse roles in child welfare, community mental health and hospital settings. Her areas of interest include management and treatment of mood disorders (anxiety, depression, stress), crisis intervention and psychoeducation. She is passionate about supporting the learning, growth and development of others, specifically shaping young minds to be successful adults. This includes getting to know the therapeutic world, if this is the service user’s first time doing therapy! Sharon strives to ensure a ‘client-centered approach,’ using humour, fun and play to assess needs, address goals and provide treatment.

Sharon earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, with a specialization in children and their families. She completed extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and draws upon CBT, dialectical-behavioural therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapy to support individuals. Sharon has also taught a range of social work courses at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2018.

Sharon takes pride in lived experience, both in mental health and the cultural influence of immigration/second-generation Canadians. She values the influence of cultural, physical and emotional aspects in therapy. She speaks fluent English and Punjabi, understanding Hindi and Urdu dialects.
