    Infection Prevention and Control

At Boomerang Health, your child’s safety is always our priority. We encourage parents and caregivers to stay informed, ask questions, and be active partners in their child’s care. Working together helps create a safe and supportive environment for every family.

Our Infection Prevention and Control practices help protect children, families, and staff from preventable infections. Whether you’re visiting for an appointment, therapy session, or program, we appreciate your help in keeping our clinic healthy.

If your child or you are feeling sick

If your child is unwell and has an appointment that is not for a sick visit, please contact the clinic to reschedule the appointment or inquire about a virtual session.  If you are unwell and your child has an appointment, if possible, kindly try to arrange for another caregiver to bring them.

    Masking guidelines

Masking is voluntary at Boomerang Health. Anyone may choose to wear a mask at any time.

    Our guidelines include:

    • Masks are available at the clinic entrance and reception desk.
    • Masking may be recommended in certain clinical situations.
    • Wearing a mask is a personal choice and not an indication of illness.
    • If a caregiver or sibling is sick but must accompany the child, we ask that they wear a mask while inside the clinic.

To help reduce the spread of seasonal viruses (flu, RSV, COVID‑19, etc.), we recommend masking:

    • During close-contact care between staff and the child
    • For caregivers during appointments
    • In waiting rooms and other shared spaces

How to help prevent the spread of infection

Hand hygiene is one of the best ways to prevent germs from spreading.

Please clean your hands with sanitizer or wash with soap and water when:

    • Entering and leaving the clinic
    • Entering and leaving a clinic room
    • After using the washroom
    • Before eating or giving your child snacks
    • After coughing or sneezing

Thank you for helping keep the Boomerang Health community safe and well!
