    Live Well Kids Clinic

A Pilot Program at Boomerang Health

We are pleased to announce the pilot launch of the Live Well Kids Clinic at Boomerang Health, an interdisciplinary, family-centred initiative designed to support children and adolescents with complex health concerns related to weight, growth, and associated comorbidities or co-existing conditions.

This pilot program offers coordinated care through a team of physicians (Paediatrics, Cardiology, Endocrinology) and rehabilitation professionals (Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Brain and Mental Health). Our approach is grounded in a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, emphasizing sustainable health behaviours, body respect, and overall well-being rather than weight-centric metrics.

      • Elevated blood pressure

    OUR REHABILITATION SERVICES

    NUTRITION

Registered Dietitians (dietitians) experienced in paediatrics provide families personalized, evidence-informed nutrition support rooted in a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy. Rather than focusing solely on weight, dietitians help patients and families identify and implement sustainable lifestyle changes that support overall well-being and foster positive relationships with food and body, honouring body diversity and individual needs.  Dietitians can support the following:

    • Caregiver confusion or stress around food, including fears of “good” vs. “bad” foods, rigid eating rules, or pressure to diet
    • Disrupted eating patterns, such as restrictive eating, emotional eating, or chaotic meal habits
    • Nutrition-related barriers to health, including limited access to dietary variety
    • Nutrition misinformation, such as providing evidence-based guidance to common myths or hot topics discussed in the media
    • Caregiver challenges with feeding, such as mealtime struggles, selective eating, or uncertainty about how to support a child’s eating in a positive, non-restrictive way
    • Nutritional support related to lab findings, such as elevated cholesterol or blood sugar levels

    Prices:
    Assessment: $200.00
Follow Up Consultations: $180.00/60 minutes; $90.00/30 minutes

    PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapists experienced in paediatrics offer families personalized, evidence-based interventions that promote physical activity and improve movement patterns.  Through fun, age-appropriate exercises and activities, physiotherapists can help children and adolescents build strength, enhance flexibility, and develop better body awareness, all while focusing on creating a positive and motivating environment. Physiotherapists can support the following areas:

    • Movement difficulties, where a child may be having challenges with motor coordination, balance, or general movement. These concerns can be addressed through targeted interventions provided by a physiotherapist to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
    • Reduced physical activity levels due to discomfort, low self-confidence, or lack of motivation
    • Joint or musculoskeletal pain, such as in the knees, hips, or lower back, including chronic pain
    • Postural concerns impacting mobility and physical function

    Prices:
    Assessment: $145.00
Follow Up Consultations: $130.00/60 minutes; $85.00/30 minutes

    BRAIN AND MENTAL HEALTH

Social Workers within the Brain and Mental Health team, who are experienced in paediatrics, provide holistic, family-centered support in the Live Well Kids Clinic, helping patients and families address challenges that extend beyond medical weight management. Social workers can support the following areas:

    • Body image concerns, low self-esteem, or disordered eating patterns, where a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach can foster self-acceptance and resilience
    • Barriers to healthy lifestyle changes, including food insecurity, motivation challenges, or lack of access to physical activity
    • Emotional or behavioural challenges, such as anxiety, depression, or family stressors, impacting a child’s well-being
    • Caregiver difficulties in supporting their child’s health goals, including motivation for change, routine-building, or navigating resources

    Prices:
    Intake: $195.00/60 minutes
    Follow Up Consultations: $195.00/60 minutes

Through the launch of the Live Well Kids Clinic, we aim to deliver holistic, evidence-based care that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children and adolescents. This pilot represents a significant step toward developing integrated care pathways for a complex and rapidly growing patient population.
