    Dr. Susan L. Lambert
    Ph.D., C.Psych.

    Program Manager, Brain & Mental Health

    As the Program Manager for the Brain & Mental Health department, Susan helps ensure that our clinicians are using best practices to provide clients and their families with first-rate evidence-based mental health care. Susan works closely with her colleagues to facilitate a collaborative and consultative team environment. Our team is always motivated to provide our clients with the best care and have an ongoing commitment to participate in professional development opportunities. Susan works to ensure that the mental health needs of our community are met and is always working on creating new program offerings and initiatives. 

    Susan L. Lambert, Ph.D., C.Psych. is a clinical psychologist with extensive training in the psychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families. She has a wealth of experience providing support to youth and their families struggling with a range of mental health difficulties. Her experiences include assessing and treating anxiety, depression, emotion regulation issues, attentional difficulties, anger management problems, school issues, parent-child relationship conflict, adjustment difficulties, and trauma. Dr. Lambert also has specialized training working with youth struggling with gender identity issues and youth who have an interest in fire-play. Dr. Lambert uses evidence-based techniques to guide her approach to assessment and treatment, while also taking into consideration and being sensitive to the unique needs of her clients. She is passionate about delivering quality care with the hope of improving the lives of children, adolescents, and their families.

    Dr. Lambert has a solid understanding of children’s mental health given her breadth of experiences prior to joining Boomerang Health. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient hospital-based pediatric settings. She has also worked in private practice settings and for various school boards across the city. Dr. Lambert has conducted comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments and provided short and long-term treatment to children and adolescents experiencing various degrees of distress. Dr. Lambert has also been involved in supervising psychology students.

    Dr. Lambert earned her doctorate and masters degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University. Dr. Lambert also has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Huron University College at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Lambert has received excellent training throughout her academic career. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship in the Child and Adolescent Clinic of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Lambert also participated in practicum and supervised practice opportunities at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the York Region District School Board, the Oshawa Psychological and Counseling Service and Brampton Civic Hospital.
