Caregiver and Toddler Group: Beyond Words
Beyond Words is designed for caregivers and their toddlers (15 to 24 months) who are already using single words and are ready to expand their expressive language. This group focuses on helping toddlers move beyond single words by building vocabulary, increasing word use across contexts, and developing readiness for early word combinations.
Caregivers will learn practical, evidence-based strategies to support language growth, such as expanding on their child’s words, modeling short phrases, and encouraging intentional communication during everyday routines and play. Sessions will incorporate songs, books, and play-based activities to support language development in a fun and engaging way. Information will also be provided about language milestones for this age range and how to support continued progress toward combining words.
This in-person clinic group is facilitated by a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
