Dr. Elyse Reim
Ph.D., C. Psych
Psychologist
Elyse Reim, Ph.D., C. Psych is a School and Clinical Psychologist who is registered to work with children, adolescents and families. Prior to joining Boomerang, Dr. Reim had a breadth of experience working in children’s community mental health, in school and day treatment settings as well as in private practice. She has had extensive experience in the provision of comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments and is passionate about using assessment to better understand youths’ strengths and challenges, to determine recommendations and strategies that may be beneficial at both home and school and to help clarify a treatment plan. Therapeutically, Dr. Reim’s work is rooted in developmental and relational frameworks while also integrating techniques from various evidence-based treatments based on a client’s unique needs and goals. Her practice includes the assessment and treatment of anxiety, mood concerns, emotion regulation issues, attentional difficulties, school and learning issues, parent-child relationship conflict and developmental trauma.
Dr. Reim has further been involved in providing supervision for psychologists in training and has experience in program development and clinical leadership. She is particularly passionate about providing psychological consultation to interprofessional teams to support their client care.
Dr. Reim obtained her doctorate and masters degree in Clinical Developmental Psychology from the University of Guelph. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Youthdale Treatment Centres and the Toronto District School Board through the Toronto Area Internship Consortium and pre-doctoral practicums at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as well as the Toronto District School Board.
