Job Summary
- Provide psychosocial assessments and case formulation to children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of behavioural, socioemotional and mental health challenges
- Responsible for providing individual, group and/or family therapy
- Comfortable working with caregivers to provide dynamic interventions
- Able to provide consultation and recommendations to families, and liaise with referring physicians, Boomerang Health clinicians, school staff and other relevant agencies
- Follow an evidence-based approach to intervention
- Manage a varied caseload and meet required timelines
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records using the Electronic Medical Record system
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A. or Ph.D. from a recognized training program of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Course work and previous clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, and families
- Knowledge of child and adolescent psychosocial development and psychopathology
Experience/Skills
- Experience in working with paediatric mental health concerns
- Collaborate effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team and work independently
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in various situations
- Proficient in evidence-based approach to intervention
- Maintain a high attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Interact effectively with children and adults, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills
- Manage time efficiently and demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate grit and adaptability in challenging situations
