Physiotherapist Job Opportunity
Part-Time Position
Job Summary
- This position is part-time and requires work on Saturdays or Sundays and one afterschool/evening shift
- Provides comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and intervention to children with movement dysfunction related to neurological, musculoskeletal or cardiorespiratory conditions
- Provides post-surgical rehabilitation
- Follows evidence-based approach to assessment and treatment
- Manages a varied caseload and meets required timelines
- Maintains complete and accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record system
- Communicates effectively and maintains relationships with referring physicians, healthcare providers and other relevant community stakeholders
- Provides education and feedback to families
- Available to work after-school shifts and Saturdays
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Master’s/Baccalaureate in Physical Therapy, with experience in paediatric assessment/treatment
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
Experience/Skills
- Proficiency in assessment and providing evidence-based orthopedic and neurodevelopmental interventions for infants/toddlers, children and adolescents
- Minimum three to five years of experience working in a community-based or outpatient-based physiotherapy setting
- Comfort with children aged newborn to 18 years
- Experience with NDT/Bobath preferred
- Proven ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Fluent in the French language an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with children and adults
- Efficient time management and organizational skills required
