Caregiver and Baby Group: Feeding Foundations
Feeding Foundations is a group designed for caregivers with babies 5 to 10 months who are beginning their feeding journey. Each session includes caregiver education and live demonstrations with babies, allowing families to learn and practice together. We’ll cover key topics such as signs of feeding readiness, introducing foods and progressing textures, safety considerations, responsive feeding approaches, and strategies to support sensory exploration. We’ll also review utensils and feeding tools (e.g., spoons, teethers, and open cups) to help develop early feeding, oral-motor, and self-feeding skills. Caregivers will leave with practical guidance and confidence, while babies have the opportunity to explore new foods and experiences in a supportive environment. Caregivers will bring food for their baby to each session, and a recommended weekly food list will be provided before the program begins.
A virtual pre-group assessment will be conducted in order to acquire background information and discuss individual goals. Group sessions will take place in-person at the clinic.
This five-week program is facilitated by a Registered Occupational Therapist and takes place in-person at Boomerang Health.
