Little Explorers: Caregiver & Baby Group
Little Explorers is designed for caregivers and their babies 9 to 14 months and provides practical information, demonstrations, and strategies to support development across three key areas: feeding, gross motor development, and communication.
Through play-based activities and hands-on learning, caregivers will learn practical strategies, resources, and ideas to support their baby’s emerging skills at home. Babies will have opportunities to participate in developmentally appropriate activities and explore new skills alongside their caregivers.
Topics will include:
- Feeding Development: Recognizing feeding readiness, introducing foods and textures, sensory exploration, feeding safety, and the development of early oral-motor and self-feeding skills.
- Gross Motor Development: Promoting strength, coordination, body awareness, and movement skills through play-based activities.
- Communication Development: Supporting babbling, early sounds and words, understanding language, and communication through songs, books, play, and everyday routines.
This 6-week program is facilitated by a Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Physiotherapist, and Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and takes place in-person at Boomerang Health.
