Alyson Martinez is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. Since 2009, Alyson has gained experience providing nutrition care to infants, children and adults in hospital and outpatient clinic settings. Over the years, Alyson has found her niche specializing in pediatrics. When she’s not helping families at Boomerang Health, Alyson works at St. Michael’s Hospital Department of Pediatrics in the neo-natal intensive care unit and outpatient pediatric clinic.
Her areas of focus include: infant feeding; failure to thrive and underweight children and teens; overweight and obese children and teens; dietary micronutrient deficiencies; gastrostomy tube feeds; picky eating; nutrition complications related to autism spectrum disorder; vegetarian and vegan diets; and food allergies.
Alyson holds a Bachelors of Applied Science from the University of Guelph, and completed a post-graduate dietetic internship at St. Michael’s Hospital. She is currently completing her Masters degree from the School of Public Health and Health Services at the University of Waterloo.
